Welcome to the online portfolio of photographer and illustrator Jennifer Blume!
Jennifer earned her degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where she studied
Illustration and Photography. She worked in freelance illustration for over ten years
and was published in magazines like Gourmet, Fine Gardening and Women's Day.
Her work was published as art prints, greeting cards, book covers and gift products.
In 2014, Jennifer turned her career focus to photography and began
photographing food because of her love of cooking. She started her food blog
(www.newhippiekitchen.blogspot.com) which showcases the healthy, vegetarian,
gluten free comfort food she cooks for her friends and family.
Within a few short months, her food and still life photos began to be published
by web and print magazines and her work was picked up by a number of prestigious
stock photo agencies that license her photos to publishers.
Additionally Jennifer’s still life work is published as art prints, book covers and soon to
be used in a clothing line.
She was hired by Page Street Publishing to photograph and style a cookbook titled
"The New New England Cookbook" by Top Chef contestant Stacy Cogswell which
was published in October of 2015 and receiving great reviews.
They then hired her for "Healing Bone Broth Recipes" by Nutritionist Sharon Brown,
“The Book of Lost Recipes” by Jaya Saxena, “Fresh Italian Cooking” by Alexandra Casper Lenz, "The Poke Cakes Cookbook" by Jamie Sherman which was featured on QVC, "My Modern Caribbean Kitchen" by Julius Jackson which hit book shelves in the summer of 2018 and "Low & Slow Cooking" by Food Network celebrity chef Robyn Almodovar.
Jennifer is currently working on writing a cookbook based using her vibrant photographs and healthy, plant based recipes as well as a line of handmade jewelry which can be found at www.JasmineSolJewelry.etsy.com.
